Fanciful and fascinating fairy tales
Swallowing The Golden Stone: Stories And Essays by Walter Wangerin, Jr. is a superbly presented selection of fanciful and fascinating fairy tales and poems suitable for reading to children and by young adults. Enhancing this wondrous collection are some very thoughtful essays and comments upon these treasured classic stories. Swallowing The Golden Stone is comparable to the best of the Brothers Grimm, the tales of Hans Christian Anderson, the stories of C.S. Lewis, or the writings of Frank L. Baum and very highly recommended for family, school, and community fairytale and folktale collections.

Swat That Fly: Sound Game

Swat That Fly...Hilarious fun for ages 3 to 103...
I found this sound game while looking for some books for a friend's child's first birthday when I discovered this sound game.

I heard this sound game one isle over and soon watched another child playing with this sound game. I laughed so hard, I could not believe how funny this game was and all the sounds it makes. I bought it; kept it in my office at work as a stress reliever. I gave it to my employees when they became stressed from their demanding jobs tasks.

At work, I soon had other managers stressed out come into my office and use it too as well as my direct manager.

Sometimes it really helps to stop what you are doing and just laugh...

I have traveled with it and let my Great Aunt and Great Uncle (who are in their late 70's) and other family members play with this game on one occasion when I came home for a family reunion visit.

I am happy to finally find this toy again! I am buying several more, one for a friend with cancer (in her mid-40s), another for my Great Aunt and Uncle, and anyone else who enjoys laughing.

This is the perfect gift for all ages with a sense-of-humor.

enchanting
I read this book many years ago when I was 12 or thirteen. My eldest grandson, Evan, has started to show an interest in Greek Mythology at age 11 and I wanted to share this book and my memories of it with him. My particular favourite was Europa and the Bull which I hope my memory serves me correctly is included in this book.

The Tarots of the Golden Dawn
Published in Cards by United States Games Systems (September, 1997)
Author: Giacinto Gaudenzi
Average review score:

My absolute favorite
This deck is not only gorgeous, but holds accurate and traditional symbology. It dwells in a land of faeries that are not really cutesy but filled with character. The court cards are Kings, Knaves, Pages and Queens. The suits are pentacles, swords, wands and cups. The Strength and Justice cards are in the traditional position unlike Rider-Waite. The minor arcana are pips, yet each suit is uniquely done in every card, some hold images in them.

The deck doesn't come with a book but some extra cards with guidance information.

Not really a deck for children, nor beginners. I recommend this deck for anyone with experience and searching for extreme fantastical beauty.

I'm 23 now, and I've loved this book since I was 3!
I had this book and the tape that went with it when I was a little kid. It's a great book for little kids- wonderful illustrations and a funny story that's fun for grown ups and children alike.

Together They are a Speedy Pair
My eighteen month old son and I discoverd this story in a Little Golden Book box set. The first edition was published in 1946 and the illustrations have a notable charm from that era. The story was written in the third person with the characters speaking in whimsical rhyme. Even the taxi has an excitable personality as it "wiggles" and "jiggles" through the traffic "bouncing" and "jouncing" its passengers along the way. My son's favorite part is when the Taxi-driver Man must honk the horn to get through the traffic. This is a very fun story! My son was hooked after we read it the first time. And now I am looking for a first edition!
